“I’m off for an adventure. Who is with me?”
Meet Grady Bear, an adorable, adventure-seeking young bear.
Grady Bear originated from the beautiful Channel Islands off the French Coast of Normandy, in a little known island named Guernsey:
Grady Bear made his first “presence” at a Helen O’Grady Drama Academy training seminar back in July 2010 in the UK. After the seminar, he was sent away with a deserving principal to visit Helen O’Grady drama classes all over the UK. A natural leader-of-the-pack who stands for courage and love, Grady Bear quickly became very popular with classes.
Now, the story of Grady Bear doesn’t end there.
All around the world, many principles started introducing their own versions of Grady – who was usually, but not always, a bear. Among others: Grady Giraffe, Grady Monkey and Grady Banana have made regular appearances in drama classes, warmly welcomed by both teachers and students alike.
As trainers from the UK visited new schools in other countries, so did Grady Bear. This is Grady Bear “giving the eye” at a training seminar in Singapore, 2015:
Soon came the time for the wonderful and exciting adventures of Grady Bear to be shared in his very own, Grady Bear books. The Grady Bear books follows the adventures of Grady Bear and his friends as they learn and explore about the world around them, from a child’s point of view.
In the first book, “Grady’s First Day at School“, Grady Bear is brought to life in print, complete with his very own traditional Guernsey sweater, thanks to artist Mike Lowe.
